Quality theatre for free!!
Two weeks ago the musical theatre company of the Universidad de las Américas premiered a new show; it’s called “Broadway Show” and it’s a mix of musical numbers of several musical comedies; there’s no story line linking the numbers, however, it’s very entertaining and with the spectacular costumes, lighting, choreographies and talented voices, it’s a great and magical experience for the audience.
And what’s best, it’s a free show. The tickets can be acquired at the University and through the cast members. This is an excellent chance to see an almost professional show and you won’t have to spend any money to have a wonderful time at the theatre.

The two Phantom of the Opera movies were written by Gaston Leroux. In both movies we can see different aspects of quality
such as: lighting, costumes and props. This can be seen in in the first movie. It is absolutely extraordinary!!! Because they managed to create an eerie atmosphere. I prefered the costumes and props of the second movie designed by Joel Schumacher because are more colorfull.Both movies have different strong aspects because they were filmed in different periods. This is very clear in the Schumacher film especifically in the underground river scene where the lighting creates a gloomy dark environment.
Both directors did a great job in creating a superb enviroment for the spectator.

This movie had a lot of production notes such as: the coffee scene when Jack Wyatt offers Isabel Bigelow to act in the T.V. program. We can observe the magic of a good lighting because her face catches the atention of the audience. The make up helps to defin and soften her face features.
The remake of Bewitched was made in 1965. In this film the audience can observe what goes on behind the scenes. I think it is a good way to show the complexity of our profession.
Finally, the performance of Nicole Kidman was in the middle of the road.

In behind the scenes, we can not only observe the FX of the green room, but also how the actors relate,and interact among themselves. This was very clear when we watched how Angelina Jolie, Morgan Freeman and James McAvoy.
Another interesting aspect was the way actors trained ahead of time. We could see this in the butcher scene. The producers selected James McAvoy because they were searching for the someone with a common man profile.
This film is a mix of common action films and technology. This can be seen in the rat scene. They worked on the designs one by one, because they needed special and specifics movements from each rodent.
This proyect is a film documetary festival created in 2005 by Gael Garcia and Diego Luna. They wanted to promote the exhibition of documentary filmmaking in Mexico.
In this festival, they are going to screen the films at Cinepolis and anothes cinemas.
Ambulante proyect is a non -profit civil organization that helps Mexican artists show their work.
I think that famous and rich actors should help new talent with their money. In the short time, it could become a good investment.
We wish all the success in the world because there goals are to create links among countries, and promote Mexico worldwide.
Title: Frankeinstein
Between the two versions that we watched, I believe that Mel Brooks version is very funny. However, I prefer the first movie because the performers mirrored the original essence fo the story.
Like in the scene of the blind man, in Mel Brook’s version, he used more props,costumes and lighting than in the first version to highlight the scenes. I personally didn’t like the second version of Frankeisntein due to the strong Jew humor. If you don't enjoy this type of humor you'd might like to try something else.
Today, Mexico presented the first Frankenstein Opera directed by Jose Fors. Many important rock performers acted in this musical. It was presented in March 2009 at Teatro Metropolitan in Mexico City.

LOWBROW By Karina Morales
Is an underground art movement with a sense of humor and was influenced by comics, punk music,psychedelic and rock music,classic cartoons, 60's TV sitcoms, pulp art, soft porn, comic books, sci-fi and horror movies.
LOWBROW has been assigned a "circa" of 1994 and it comes from the magazine Juztapoz when the original term was “lowblow art” in a article about underground artists. The movement brought accessible art since “POP ART”. In this point we can observe some characteristics of Lowbrow:· Lowbrow is an underground, it means lowbrow art was born like an need to express new ideas in young people.
· Lowbrow art has a sense of humor, it is often impish in the picture, but always present.
·Lowbrow art recognize icons of a popular culture, that 's why people like it.
